Pakistan ( PAK) vs England ( ENG)

It has been a rare phenomenon for Pakistan in a series to lose three games in a row after scoring in excess of 320 every time. But this what this England team is all about, unafraid to chase any target. Now in the final ODI of the series, it’s all about making sure to give game time for the players ahead of the world cup. On the other hand, Pakistan badly needs a win to lift their confidence. In order to do that, they have to come up with a much more disciplined performance, especially in their fielding.

Team News

Abid Ali is likely to replace Imam at the top, other than that Pakistan unlikely to tinker with the playing XI. England on the other hand, likely to make a few changes which make a way for Morgan & Woakes in place of Denly & Curran. Other than that It is unclear as to whether Vince gets another chance or if Roy plays the game.

Pitch Report

The surface at Headingley has produced run fest in this season’s Domestic ODI Cup and it is likely to play the same for the Sunday’s dead rubber. Weather-wise there is a chance of rain during the match which might make assist pacers with a bit of moisture on the surface.

Players to watch out for

Joe Root

He is only England batsman in the Top 6 who hasn’t come up with impact innings in the series. He has got good starts so far but on Sunday he will be eager to convert it into a big score. His record at the venue might come in handy in that regard, where he scored 197 runs in last 3 games here.

Jonny Bairstow

He seems to be in the form of his life and he will be looking to continue the same in the final ODI. There is every chance he will come up with another big knock in the series finale, as he has a good record at the venue.

Adil Rashid

He may not have performed to his standards in the series so far, but he has been economical against Pakistan batsmen which played its part in England’s victories. On Sunday, he is expected to show his true potential at Headingley, given his good record at the venue in the recent past.

Fakhar Zaman

He has been prolific in terms of scoring, that too at a great rate. On Sunday, if Pakistan wants to register a win he will be crucial for them as he sets the tempo right at the top of the order.
