Date & Time: Thursday, May 23, 16:30 IST
Venue: Willowmoore Park, Benoni, South Africa
This series has been a closely contested one, with either side winning the alternate game so far. Thursday is the last chance for either team to walk away with the glorious winner tag. In order to be on the winning side, both teams need to overcome their respective issues. For Pakistan Women, the openers have been a big concern as they failed in almost every match. For South Africa Women, their middle order hasn’t stepped up to accelerate the scoring.
Pakistan might think of changing one of the underperforming openers. Other than that they are likely to stick with yesterday’s Playing XI. South Africa might consider bringing in Tim Sekhukhune in place on Nondumiso Shangase.
The surface at Benoni has produced a run fest on Wednesday so we can expect more or less a similar kind of score on Thursday as well. Weather-wise there is no chance of rain as clear sky expected through the entire day.
She has been one of the saviours for Pakistan in the series as she came up with vital knocks whenever the openers departed early. She scored 154 runs in the series which includes two half-centuries and a 37 in the last game at this venue. She also has a good record against Protea bowlers except against Daniels, who got her out twice in the series. We expect her to see off Daniels in the finale as she is the most prefered batswoman in all the fantasy cricket teams.
Lee has been impressive at the top through the series, as she came up with two half-centuries, one of which came in the last game at almost 200 strike rate. So she is a big bet player to have in your fantasy cricket team. She can change the game altogether if she gets to a good start.
She has been a game changer for the Proteas with the ball as she has picked many crucial wickets so far in the series. She got the better of Maroof twice and Dar once in the series. So she is a must-have bowler in today’s match, as she is also coming back on a 3 wicket haul from yesterday’s game at this venue.
She is the top run-getter in the series with 164 runs from 4 games which include two half-centuries. One of those half-centuries came from yesterday’s match at this very venue. So she will be eager to continue the same in today’s match to seal the series for Pakistan. But in order to do that she has to be cautious against Luss & Daniels, who got her twice and once each respectively in the series.
