Hobart Hurricanes (HUR) vs Melbourne Renegades (REN)

Hurricanes host Renegades on the eve of Christmas

The defending Champions, Melbourne Renegades have had a rough start to the season as they lost back to back matches in a row. In both the matches, they were in the contest for the most part of it but failed to clinch to a few key moments which they need to sort out before it becomes too late. On the other side, the Hurricanes which has defined a low total in the opening match was then demolished by the Stars in the second match. Now playing their first match at home and the return of a couple of experienced players, they hope to be back on track.

Team News

Geroge Bailey and James Faulkner who have missed the last game will return to the side for the Christmas eve match. Renegades is likely to stick with the same XI that featured in the last two games.

Pitch Report

The surface in Hobart has been on the high scoring side in the past few seasons with scores ranging between 160 to 180. Only leg-spin has done well here; with reaming all have gone for runs.

Must have players

Aaron Finch

The Renegades player may not have come up with his best in the season yet. But in the two matches played, he has made it to the dream team on both occasions. Considering his record in the format, where he has a PPM of close to 50 there is every chance he will come up with a game-changing performance in today’s match.

D Arcy Short

He has started the season with a bang by scoring a much-needed half-century when other batsmen struggled to score. In the second one, he got the team to a good start. He has a great record at the venue where he has an impressive PPM of 67 and an MDTA of 1.15 in the format.

Qais Ahmad

He is making his presence felt in the Big Bash with an outstanding performance of the ball as well as the celebrations. He has been the most consistent bowler for Hurricanes who have done commendably in the last few months. In the tour, he has an impressive PPM of 75 and at the venue, he has a PPM of 67 in the two matches played.

Kane Richardson

The leading wicket-taker of the previous edition has chipped in 4 wickets in the last match which proved to be a game-changing performance for fantasy players. It seems like he is just continuing from where he left in the recent T20Is. He has a PPM of 42 in the 3 matches played at the venue.
