Scorchers hope to give it back on Boxing Day
Perth Scorchers host Sydney Sixers at Boxing day which will be the first reverse fixture of the season. When both the sides met earlier in the season, Sixers crushed Scorchers with a dominating performance. Since then the Sixers have found to be on the other side of the spectrum. They have lost their last two games in a convincing fashion. On the other hand, the Scorchers recovered well after the opening defeat as they won against Renegades and came close against the Strikers.
The Sixers opening batsman is the leading point scorer in the tour with a PPM of 65 among batsmen in the match. Lian Livingstone is next on the list with a PPM of close to 50 in the tour. Josh Inglis and Mitchell Marsh follow with a PPM of above 41. James Vince and Cameron Bancroft are also worthy picks in today’s match who have a PPM of close to 35.
In bowling, there are quite a few contestants to be considered in today’s match. Sean Abbott is leading the charts with PPM of 70 in the tour. Ben Menenthi and Ben Dwarshuis are next in the pecking order with a PPM of 61 and 57 respectively. Chirs Jordan and Tom Curran are not too far away with PPM of 53 and 50 respectively.
Both sides are likely to stick with the XI of their last match.

The surface in Perth has produced sporting games in the last edition of BBL. In its first match of the season it was no different. The average first innings score at the venue is around 160 in the last 8 matches played here.
He is the most consistent batsman of the tour. He has made it to the Dream team thrice in a row, scoring at a PPM of 65. His aggressive approach at the top of the order made life easy for batsmen. If the conditions in Perth remain as true as the first of the season, then there is every chance he will make it to the dream team once more.
He is one among the consistent bowlers for Sixers in the season. He has chipped in with 6 wickets from 3 matches played in the tour. If he continues the same, then a call from the national team to play for the ODIs is definitely up in the offing, given that he has made his T20Is debut recently.
He is among the top 5 wickets of the season. He has chipped in with a couple of wickets on every occasion he got to bowl in the tour. In a star-studded bowling attack, his performance may have been underplayed but in fantasy cricket, he proved to be the defining factor.
The England batsman is going from strength to strength after being departed for a duck in the first match of the tour. His PPM of 49.3 in the tour is the highest among the Scorchers batsmen. Adding to it, his career PPM of 53 and MDTA of 1.46 makes him a must-have.
He may have gone for runs in the last match but he is the most experienced T20 bowler in the side. If anything to go by his performance in the first two games there is every chance he will bounce back strong in today’s match. He has a PPM of 53 in the tour.
