Hobart Hurricanes (HUR) vs Brisbane Heat (HEA)

Both the sides seek to move into the top half of the table

The BBL season is only into its mid-stage but the difference in quality between the top 4 and bottom 4 seems to be enormous. It may not be a must-win situation for the bottom half teams but they certainly need to find some form in order to compete with the top 4. In that very context, the game between Heat and Hurricanes pose a crucial opportunity for both sides.

In this match, there aren’t many batsmen who have done well in the tour to choose from. In those few options we have Chris Lynn topping the charts with a PPM of 57, followed by Tom Banton who has PPM of 41 in the tour.

The all-rounders are capable of either making or breaking a fantasy team, especially for this match. James Faulkner, Matt Renshaw, and D’Arcy Short are a must-have who have PPM of 66, 58 and 47 respectively.

In the bowling, Riley Meredith, Qais Ahmed and Been Laughlin are the worthy choices.

Team News

Both the sides are likely to stick with the same Playing XI as of their last match.

Pitch Report

The surface at Bellerive Oval in Hobart has been on the high scoring side in the previous season but it was not the case in the first game of this season. Although expect it to assist more for batsmen on Friday.

Must have players

James Faulkner

He is the top-rated player of the match with a PPM of 66 in the tour. Apart from the first match of the season, he has been amongst the wickets for the side. Adding to it, he has PPM of 41 and an MDTA of 1.17 in 8 matches played at the venue.

Matt Renshaw

He is proving to be the crucial link for Heat in the season amongst the power hitters. He seems to be balancing the batting unit with his composure. In the last match, he may have been dismissed early but prior to that, he has been a consistent player of the side.

D Arcy Short

He is the best batsman of the side in the tour by a fair margin but he himself admits he hasn’t been at his best so far. But on Friday when he takes the field it can all change. He had an impressive PPM of 68 and an MDTA of 1.18 in 16 matches played at the venue.
