Thunders batting in focus against the Challengers in BPL opener
Bangladesh Premier League is all set to kick start its seventh edition of the league on Wednesday in Dhaka. The opener of the season features Chattogram Challengers against Syllnet Thunders. Both sides are loaded with few power hitters to make the opening contest a cracking one. But the same cannot be said about the bowling unit, as Challengers have a superior attack which could well be the determining factor of the match.
Johnson Charles and Mahamadullah are the two top-rated batsmen in the match with a PPM of 53 & 40 respectively in the last five games of the format. In bowling unit Rubel Hossain leads the charts with an impressive PPM of 70 in the last five games. The surface in Dhaka is known to offer enough assistance for slower bowlers. Since this is the first game of the season, we can expect a good surface to bat on.
He is fresh from the exploits in CPL and T20 league where he was amongst the top run-getters. His impressive form in the last 5 games makes him a must-have in today’s match as he possesses the highest PPM among the batsmen.

In the last five games, he has chipped in with at least a wicket and his added batting credentials make in a must-have in today’s match.
The Challengers Skipper is the key batsman for the side. His experience playing at the highest level is one of the reasons for that. His PPM of 43 and MDTA of 1.7 in the format makes him a worthy pick in today’s match.
He has the highest PPM among bowlers for Thunders in the last 5 games of the format. He possesses the unique skill to deceive batsmen with his slower balls which will be so crucial in these conditions where it becomes tough for batting, as the game and tournament progress.
