England (ENG) vs New Zealand (NZ)

Both the sides eager to lead the way

After the loss in the first T20I, New Zealand has bounced back in the second as they came up with an allround bowling performance which wasn’t the case in the first. They were also helped by the poor show of England in the field, as they dropped as many as 6 catches which proved to be the difference in the end result. Another aspect is the way the top order performed for both sides, as there was nothing to differentiate the performance from the middle and lower-middle order. Now with the series leveled, both sides seek to lead the way going forward by coming up with improved performances.

Team News

Both sides are likely to stick with the same playing XI of the last match, unless they consider giving game time for bench players.

Pitch Report

There aren’t many T20Is played at Saxton Oval in Nelson. Tuesday’s game is only the second match to be played. The surface here usually offers something for everyone and it has been on the high scoring side in most One Day games.

Must have players

Mitchell Santner

He is the second-highest point scorer of the series with a PPM of 83.5 in the two matches played. He has chipped in two 3 wicket hauls in as many matches played and proved to be the most consistent performer for the Kiwis. He has dismissed almost every England batsman once in the last 5 encounters.

Eoin Morgan

England skipper has played the floater role to perfection in the two matches played, where he came up with back to back cameos to get the scoreboard moving. He has a PPM of close to 50 and has an MDTA of 1 in the tour.

Ross Taylor

The Kiwis’ experienced pro has come up with back to back crucial knocks. In both the matches, he has played the anchor role to guide the team to a respectable total in a phase wickets when tumbled at the other end. He has a PPM of 40 and an MDTA of 1.6 in the last 5 matches.

Chris Jordan

He is the highest point scorer of the series so far where he has a PPM of 94 in the two played. He has lived up to his reputation of containing the batsmen in the middle and death overs. Adding to it, he also played a handy cameo in the last match which almost turned the match to the visitor’s favor. His PPM of 74 and an MDTA of 1 in the last 5 matches make him a must-have a player in the Dream11 cricket team.
