West Indies (WI) Vs Pakistan (PAK)

The Unpredictable contest of the Tournament

Two of the most unpredictable and dangerous sides will lock horns in the second match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 at Trent Bridge on Friday. The journey of both the teams leading into the tournament is not far from their unpredictable nature. Pakistan, the winners of the Champions Trophy 2017 has gone through a lean phase since then. On the other hand, West Indies, who were not part of that very event has picked some sort of form in the past year and a half. So it is a contest that brings uncertainty to the tournament.

Team News

For Pakistan, the players likely to be left out are: 1. Mohammad Hasnain, 2. Asif Ali, 3. One of Hafeez or Malik, 4. One of Wahab Riaz or Mohammed Amir. On the other side, West Indies may leave out Fabien Allen, Oshane Thomas, Carlos Braithwaite, and one of Nicholas Pooran or Darren Bravo for their opening match.

Pitch Report

The surface at Trent Bridge has been a batting paradise over the past few years, so we expect a similar kind of surface for Friday’s clash as well. Weather-wise there is no chance of rain on the match day but it is expected to be overcast for the most part of the day which might aid pacers early on.

Must have players

Babar Azam

He is Pakistan’s hope when it comes to consistency in this format. He showcased the same in the recent ODI series against England as he was the top run scorer for the side with 277 runs. There is every chance he will continue the same at Trent Bridge as he scored a ton in the very venue in the recent England Series.

Shai Hope

He has been the most consistent batsman for West Indies in the past couple of years and he replicated the same in the recent Tri-Nation Series and in the warm-up fixture a few days ago. Hence, his consistency makes him the most valuable batsman to have in all the Dream11 fantasy cricket teams for today’s clash.

Imam-ul-Haq

He has never looked back since his debut in the format. He averages almost 60 in the 28 ODI appearances. His recent form is not any different either, as he came up with vital knocks for the side in the recent ODI series against England. So his familiarity with the conditions on offer in the country and recent good form make him the worthy batsman that he is to have in the Dream11 fantasy cricket team.

X factor players / Big bets

Chris Gayle

The Universe Boss is one of the few players in the world to feature in the fourth World Cup and he is eager to finish it on a high as he doesn’t seem like he will continue playing international cricket after the mega event. His present form might favor him in that regard as he is coming back on a good IPL stint and also from an impressive ODI series in the Caribbean. So, the above factors make him one of the hottest picks in the Dream11 fantasy cricket game.

Notable Misses

Jason Holder

Make no mistake, we are high on Holder in today’s game. He has a PPM of 32.11 and an MDTA 1.49 (26.9 PPM in the last 6 months), we do not think he will have too much of a chance to contribute with the bat. In the ODI format, a 4 wicket haul is roughly equivalent to a 80 run score. So, in a high scoring ground like Trent Bridge, we are more likely to see two batsmen scoring 80 odd runs than we see a 4 wicket haul.
