Papua New Guinea (PNG) vs Scotland (SCO)

Scotland hopeful to end Papua New Guinea’s unbeaten streak

Papua New Guinea is probably the team of the tournament so far as they were ruthless in both their victories. After demolishing Bermuda in the opening game they have replicated the same against Namibia and became the only team alongside the Netherlands to be unbeaten in the tournament. On the other hand, Scotland which is considered as one of the favorites leading into the tournament has suffered a defeat against Singapore in the opening game. Later they have salvaged a victory against Kenya with an all-round performance. Now it is interesting to see whether Scotland will replicate the same on Monday or will Papua New Guinea continue their unbeaten streak.

Team News

Both sides are likely to stick with the winning combination.

Expect nothing different from Dubai

The surface in the ICC academy in Dubai has produced good sporting games in the tournament so far. The average score of first innings is around 150. So expect a cracker of a game in the crucial contest.

Must have players

George Munsey

Scotland opener has continued his recent good form in the first two games of the season. He has a PPM of 45 and an MDTA of 1. In the last 5 matches, he has a PPM of 1.25 which makes him a worthy batsman in Dream11 cricket teams.

Calum MacLeod

He may not have been in great form leading into the tournament but he has shown his class in the matches played in the UAE. He has a PPM of 54.8 and an MDTA of 1 in the last 5 matches.

Tony Ura

He has provided the team with good starts in the last 4 matches and in the last one he has picked up a notch by hitting a crucial knock. He has a PPM of 45 in the last 5 games which makes him a worthy pick to consider in the Dream11 cricket team.

Assad Vala

The PNG skipper is the most consistent player of the side in the tournament. After his all-round show in the first game, his partnership with Ura in the second proved to be too good for Namibia. He has a PPM of 80 on the tour which makes him a must-have.

Josh Davey

He is the most consistent bowler for Scotland on the tour where he has a PPM of 55 and an MDTA of 1. Adding to it, he has a PPMC of 62 and a career MDTA of 1.29.
