A simple task for the Warriors – win this game and leave the rest to destiny
BT are at the top, with a guaranteed spot in the top 2. They will look to continue the good work and take the momentum into the Qualifier. MW were all but out of the tournament before the last game but a good win and some results their way has brought them back into the competition. A win will make their case strong for the playoffs, provided the HT don’t win or don’t win big. BT have been the team to beat this season with 4 wins out of 5 games. They have a few big names who have been their linchpins, taking the team through so far, with bat and ball. For MW, the top order was scoring bulk of the runs but without any support from the middle order batsmen and the bowlers. But when they support from the middle order, they triumphed.
Both teams should retain the same XI.
The wicket at Mysuru has been a batting paradise so far, this season and should continue to play the same way.
Still the highest run-getter in the tournament. His 247 runs in 4 innings has been one of the main reasons why MW are in this position.
The all-rounder was already a must-have in all KPL teams but he has only made his case stronger with the World record he set a few days back. His 134 and 8 wickets in a game is a record that will stay unbeaten for a long long time.
The fast bowler has earned a lot of accolades over the past two years and has also done well in the IPL. He is also the second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 7 wickets at an economy of 6.5 and SR of 16.
The all-rounder has been under par in the tournament so far. One would argue he didn’t get enough opportunities but he really has struggled after the first game. He got back into some sort of form in the last game but today could be his day, being a big game.
