Spartans gears up for Rocks Challenge
In the second match of Sunday’s doubleheader in MSL 2019, the Rocks take on the Spartans at their own fortress. Both teams have their fair share of abandoned games in the season. The Spartans is yet to play a full game with both of their matches being washed out but they will be happy, especially with the way the second game panned out. On the other side, the Rocks have started the season on an impressive fashion. Against the Blitz later they have been the victims of Durban’s horrible weather. But in Paarl, where the forecast is quite clear, it promises an exciting match between two well-matched sides.
James Vince who is available for selection is likely to replace Sibonelo Makhanya for the Rocks. Spartans, on the other hand, is likely to stick with the same XI they have fielded against the Heat a couple of days ago.
The surface in Paarl has produced assistance for everyone in its first game of the season. So expect another similar kind of a surface for Sunday’s game as well.
The versatile batsman may be out of international cricket but he still possess the swag in him. He has shown it in the T20 Blast where he played few match-defining knocks for Middlesex. His PPM of 74 and an MDTA of 1.25 in the last 5 games makes him a must-have in today’s match.
One just can’t miss out on a consistent player like Faf in the fantasy team. He has started the season on a good note, and in the last 5 matches he has a PPM of close to 60 and has an MDTA of 1.
The opening batsman is trying to make his case in the shorter format for the Proteas, the MSL provides a great platform for him to nail a spot. If he can continue his recent good form of the format there is no stopping him for sure. He has an impressive PPM of 63 and an MDTA of 1 in the last 5 matches.
He is one of the most consistent performers around the T20 leagues in recent times. In the first match of the season, it was no different as he came up with an all-round show. His PPM of 61 and MDTA of 1.25 in the last 5 matches make him a must-have in today’s match.
The left-arm orthodox bowler who has made his international debut recently has continued form from where left. In the first natch, he has provided the team with early wickets as he usually does. There is every chance he will continue to be at his best given the form he is in at the moment.
