Race to top 3 finish intensifies
In the second match of Sunday’s doubleheader- Cape Town Blitz host the Tshwane Spartans, it is the first time these two sides are meeting in the season. The Blitz which has started the season in a great fashion with three wins from four matches have lost their way after losing the last three matches. Now they find themselves in a critical position where they need to win at least two of the remaining three games. On the other hand, the Spartans’ campaign was hit by rain with three out of the 6 matches being washed out. But they came out victorious in the remaining three where rain didn’t play spoilsport. Now another win here will seal them a berth in the top 3.
Both sides are likely to stick with the XI of their respective last matches.
The surface in Cape Town has been on the high scoring side in the season as it is the case here. But bowlers have also had their say in those high scoring affairs as the surface offered some assistance. The forecast is mostly cloudy during the match with temperatures hovering in the lower 20°C, but there is no rain threat.
The Blitz Captain has been amongst the runs for the side at the top of the order. Apart from a match, he has made it to the dream team on 6 out of the 7 occasions. His consistency in the tournament and his good record against the visitors make him a must-have.
He is the leading run-scorer of the tournament at the moment. He has come up with a couple of big knocks for the side and also provided the side with good starts most of the time. His PPM of 54 and MDTA 1.75 in the last few matches played in the tour makes him a must-have in today’s match.
The veteran batsman has lived up to the expectations on him. In the three matches played he has come up with a couple of half-centuries and on the other occasion he hasn’t had much to do. His PPM of 66 and MDTA of 1 in the tour makes him the most sought after player in the Dream11 cricket team.
He has continued from where he left in the T20 Qualifiers earlier in the month. He has chipped in with at least a wicket in the three matches played and proved to be one of the most consistent performers for the team. He has a PPM of 59 and an MDTA of 1 in the tour.
He may be at the fag end of his career but he is still making the ball talk. He has provided the team with early wickets on most of the occasions even when others went for runs. He is leading the wicket charts for the side which is reflected in his PPM of 48 in the tour.
He may not be known for his credentials in the T20 format but in the season he changed that. He is the leading wicket-taker for the side with 7 wickets from 3 matches where he chipped in with at least a couple of wickets in every match. His form in the tour makes him a must-have in the Dream11 cricket team.
