Jozi Stars (JOZ) vs Durban Heat (DUR)

Durban Heat eye for a spot in top 3

Saturday’s contest between the Heat and the Stars is a crucial one for the Heat as they have a chance to finish in the top 3 if they win the remaining two games. Both games are against the Stars who are knocked out of the tournament and in search of their first win of the tournament.

Both sides have relied heavily on their batting units, who are not the top point scorers in the match. The Stars opening batsmen Reeza Hendricks leads the way with a PPM of 56 in the tour. Then, the Heat’s consistent performer David Miller is in the line up with a PPM of 53 in the tour.

In the bowling front, there aren’t many who have done well in both sides. Duanne Oliver and Rabada are leading the way bowling with a PPM of 38 & 37 respectively.

Team News

The Stars might consider giving the bench players a go as they are already out of the tournament. The Heat on the other hand, is likely to stick with their winning combination.

Pitch Report

The surface in Johannesburg hasn’t produced high scoring games unlike other venues in the tournament. The average first innings score in the tournament is around 161. So expect the same with some assistance for Pacers early on in the innings.

Must have players

Reeza Hendricks

He is among the top 5 run-getters in the tournament. He has a PPM of 56 and an MDTA of 1.4 in the tour. His runs may not have come in handy for the stars but it had a big impact in the Dream11 fantasy cricket team.

David Miller

He has been the most consistent performer for the Heat in the tour. He has provided the team with much-needed finish in most of the games and also come up with a couple of match-defining knocks. He has a PPM of 53 and an MDTA of 1.25 in the tour.

Wihan Lubbe

It has either been highway or no way from the Heat’s No.3 batsman in the tour. He has come up with good knocks in the alternative matches and departed early in the remaining. There is every chance he will come up with a big knock in today’s match, given he has risen to the occasion after a failure.

Temba Bavuma

He is the most consistent player for the Stars in the tour. He has provided the team with good starts every time he has come on to bat. In the seven matches, he has made it to the Dream team on 6 occasions which is a clear indication of his consistency.
