Defending champs hope to recover loss
Jozi Stars and Cape Town Blitz face off for the second time in the first reverse fixture of the season. Jozi Stars the defending Champions have not started the season on a good note as they lost both games played in a convincing fashion. On the other hand, the Blitz after their opening win against the Stars were found wanting against the Giants as they fell short by 24 runs in chasing 167. Now both sides seek revival after happened in the two matches played so far.
Both sides are likely to stick with the same playing XI of their last match.
Cape Town Blitz Possible XI:
Quinton de Kock(w/c), Janneman Malan, Moeen Ali, Liam Livingstone, Mohammad Nawaz, Aviwe Mgijima, George Linde, Vernon Philander, Sisanda Magala, Dale Steyn, Anrich Nortje
Jozi Stars Possible XI:
Chris Gayle, Reeza Hendricks, Rassie van der Dussen, Temba Bavuma(c), Ryan Rickelton(w), Daniel Christian, Nono Pongolo, Simon Harmer, Kagiso Rabada, Dane Paterson, Duanne Olivier
The surface in Cape Town has been on the high scoring side in the international games but in the last edition of MSL, it was not the case as only a couple of matches turned out to be high scoring. So it will be interesting to see how the surface plays this time around.
The Blitz skipper has been in good form off late in the format. He has come up with a decent knock in the first game against the Stars, so expect the same this time around too. He has PPM of 75 and an MDTA of 1 in the last 5 matches which makes him a must-have in today’s match.
The Stars’ skipper has been the most consistent player of the side in recent times. He has already come up with decent knocks in a couple of matches played. His PPM of 66 and an MDTA of 1 in the last 5 matches make him an irresistible choice for fantasy cricket players.
The veteran may have retired from the longer format but in the first game of the season, he has shown he still has a fire within him. His spell proved to be one of the differences in the victory against the Stars. His PPM of 48 and an MDTA of 11.25 in the last 5 matches make him a worthy pick to consider in the Dream11 cricket team.
The Stars may not have won a game but the form Hendricks is in is good news for them. He has come up with back to back big knocks in the first two games of the season. He has a PPM of close to 50 and MDTA of 1.67 in the last 5 matches.
The Universe Boss may not have had the greatest of starts to the season but his ability to come up with big knocks from nowhere makes him a big bet in today’s match. His PPM of 41 and MDTA of 1.94 in the format is a clear reflection of his inconsistency
