Australia seek to continue their home dominance
Australia was on its way to extend its dominance against Pakistan in the first T20I before rain came to ruin their plans. The team from Pakistan isn’t any better than Sri Lanka. Apart from Babar Azam’s half-century no batsman was comfortable throughout their stay. In the bowling front, there was more are concerns as Mohammad Irfan who is making his comeback after 3 years, received a pounding from the Australian skipper. Rain might have come to the rescue for Pakistan in the shortened first game but if they are to pose a challenge for the home side, they need to bring their A-game to the table.
Australia is likely to stick with the same playing XI unless they consider rotating their quicks. Pakistan may stick with Mohammad Irfan for one more game; other than that there is nothing for them to ponder with the playing XI.
Manuka Oval in Canberra is up for its first T20I game on Tuesday. The surface has mostly produced high scoring games in the One Day format and it has been the case in the previous edition of BBL.
He is in great form leading into the series. In the first T20, he didn’t have much to do with his partner making all the damage. He might have had a weakness against M Irfan previously but with his present form, and the way Irfan went for runs, there is no one stopping him. He has a PPM of 91 and an MDTA of 1 in the last 5 games.
He may not have great numbers against the Pakistan bowlers in the past but he has shown those don’t matter to the form he is in. He has a PPM of 60 and an MDTA of 1.6 in the last 5 games.
He has picked a couple of wickets in the last 3 matches in the format. If he can live up to his reputation and his present form, he is a bowler who can be the game-changer in the fantasy team. He has a PPM of close to 60 and has an MDTA of 1.25 in the last 5 games.
In the first T20I, he has shown why he is the No.1 batsman in the format. He may have been drought for runs into the recent Sri Lankan series but now it looks like he has come back to his best. His career PPM of 1.38 in T20Is makes him a must-have in the Dream11 cricket team.
He is only second to Babar when it comes to consistency in the format for Pakistan. He has a PPM of 46 and an MDTA of 1.46 in the format. Adding to it, he also has great numbers against Finch whom he has dismissed thrice in the last 5 games.
