India (IND) vs Sri Lanka (SL)

Bumrah, Dhawan and Sri Lanka’s youngsters in focus

As the first T20I was washed out, it failed to showcase where both sides are heading in the format, but it did display what the infrastructure of the richest cricket body in the world possesses. This series is a comeback for both Bumrah and Dhawan, who are returning from their respective injuries. The absence of Rohit gives Dhawan an opportunity to hold on to his opening position. Other than that, the focus will be on how India approaches batting first which is an area of concern for some time now. For Sri Lanka, this is another series to test their newbies who have showcased potential in the last few series.

Pitch Report

The surface in Indore is known to produce high scoring games, whether it is T20s or ODIs. Spinners have done well in the past here but in today’s match, they will be tested with the presence of dew.

Must have players

Virat Kohli

The Indian Captain is in the form of his life for some time now. He enjoys playing against Sri Lanka and it was the series way back in 2008 that caught everyone’s attention. Fast forward to 2020, he is the top-rated batsman across formats. In the four matches played against Sri Lanka in the format, he has scored four half-centuries.

Lokesh Rahul

He has certainly made his opportunity count in the series against West Indies. Now, with Dhawan back into the squad, he can’t afford to remove the leg from the paddle. Another impressive series will certainly make his case strong to open with Rohit when he comes back.

Isuru Udana

He has been all over the world playing various T20 leagues and he has improved manifold to what he was a year ago. His slower balls and the left-handed angle against the Indian batsmen will be a crucial factor for Sri Lanka. He was in tremendous form in the recently concluded MSL. He is a player to watch out for in today’s match.

Kuldeep Yadav

The Chinaman has had a good record when it comes to playing against the Lankans. His recent form in the format is equally good. He has an impressive PPM of 54.8 and an MDTA of 1 in the last 5 matches
