Can Middlesex make their first-ever Semi-final appearance in the Vitality Blast?
Middlesex is coming off a solid win in their last group match while Notts is coming off a defeat. The momentum is definitely in favor of MID and someone has to play a special innings from the NOT team to pull off a win. If MID wins, it will be their first-ever SF appearance in the history of the tournament. NOT will be looking to repeat their 2017 heroics. MID was missing the services of AB De Villiers for a while as he held the innings together for them. But now with E Morgan and AB De Villiers back, they should feel more comfortable. They are a team. NOT has a solid top order, a couple of good finishers and a bowling line-up that has a lot to boast of when it comes to T20s with the likes of H Gurney and D Christian.
MID will be looking to play the same XI as their last game. NOT should also play the same team even though they suffered a loss last week.
It has been a high scoring wicket here at Nottingham. The wicket is expected to play a touch slower as the summer is ending here in the UK.
The English limited-overs captain joined the Middlesex team after 6 league games and has already made a huge impact. He is the third-highest run-getter for the side with 288 runs and the 143 runs he has scored in his last 3 innings suggests his form is also really good.
AB de Villiers
In just 7 innings, he has scored 388 runs for his side, including a 50+ and a 30+ after his comeback last week. His T20 record is second to none and he is a must-have.
The NOT skipper has a terrific record when it comes to knockout games and he showed that with the return to form in his last game. He does not have much of significance so far but has chipped in well in all games. He could be the match-winner tonight though.
The highest run-getter for NOT this season so far. He is someone who can change the game or even win the game all by himself. He has shown only glimpses of his brilliance so far but tonight could be his night.
