Can Lancashire finish on top of the North group table?
It is only a rehearsal for Lancashire before the quarter-finals as they qualified and will most probably stay in the top 2 as well. A win will certainly make sure they top the table and if they lose, they might finish second if NOT win their game. Leicestershire are out of the tournament but have some pride to salvage and also look to provide some youngsters with a game. LAN have been exceptional as a team. Their batsmen are in a really good from combined with some terrific tight bowling from their bowlers. Only one of their bowlers has an economy of over 8. LEI’s batting has been alright but the lack of penetration in their bowling line-up has let them down.
LAN will look to test their bench before the knockouts. LEI will look to give their benched players an opportunity.
The pitch at Old Trafford offers the bowlers a bit if they bend their backs but is generally a good batting wicket too.
For a player of his stature, he had a rough start to the tournament but has picked up some great form now. He has scored 241 runs and picked up 13 wickets so far. If he gets going, he can be virtually unstoppable.
He automatically picks himself in any team with stats of 12 wickets and 321 runs. Though his world record was beaten a few days back, his performance will still be one of the best.
The overseas pro from Australia has had a couple of rough games but we all know what he is capable of. Once he gets going, he can change games in the matter of overs. He still has 262 runs at a SR of 164 in the tournament.
