Middlesex (MID) Vs Surrey (SUR)

Surrey receive Lian Plunkett’s boost ahead of Middlesex clash

Middlesex and Surrey have had indifferent results in their first match of the season against the same opposition Essex. AB Devilliers had produced a blistering knock to hand an easy win for Middlesex while chasing an above-par total. On the other side, Surrey couldn’t stop on Delport who scored the first century of the season which later proved to be too much to handle for Surrey even with their late fightback.

Team News

Surrey 14-member squad: Aaron Finch, Will Jacks, Mark Stoneman, Ollie Pope, Ben Foakes (WK), Jordan Clark, Tom Curran, Liam Plunkett, Jade Dernbach (C), Gareth Batty, Imran Tahir, Scott Borthwick, Ryan Patel.Rikki Clarke.

Middlesex 14-member squad: Paul Stirling, Dawid Malan (C), Nick Gubbins, AB de Villiers, John Simpson (WK), Tom Helm, Toby Roland-Jones, Steven Finn, Nathan Sowter, Mujeeb ur Rahman, Stephen Eskinazi, James Harris, Tom Barber, George Scott.

Pitch & Conditions

The surface at Kennington Oval has produced high scoring games in recent times, where the average score of the team that bat first has been around 180. So expect some fireworks for the neighbor’s clash as well. The forecast is clear for the match with temperatures around 20°C during the match.

Must have players

AB de Villiers

The 360-degree batsman has made his debut in T20 Blast in a style with a match-winning knock against Essex. His presence will once again be crucial for Middlesex as they don’t have many stars in their batting line up. Since Devilliers is known for his consistency, that makes him the most sorted out player in Dream11 cricket team in today’s match.

Aaron Finch

He continued from where he left in the World Cup. He has come up with a quickfire 40 off just 19 balls against Essex when the team needed a good start while chasing a big total. There is every chance that he will continue the same against Middlesex as he was the leading run-scorer for the side in the 2018 T20 Blast.

Liam Plunkett

The return of the World Cup winner to the side will boost Surrey’s bowling unit immensely. He is coming into the match on the back of a good World Cup campaign where he was amongst the wickets in the few matches he played in the tournament.

Paul Stirling

He may have departed quite early in the last game, but he is in great form off late. He was amongst Top 10 run-getters in the 2018 T20 Blast, since then he has continued the form across formats and different levels of the game. Adding to the batting his hand off-spin makes him a worthy pick for today’s game for Dream11 fantasy cricket players.
