Will the Rapids overcome the galloping Stags?
Nottinghamshire are placed 3rd and Worcestershire 4th in the points table. NOT are through no matter what but WOR will be on the safer side if they can win one game. If Northamptonshire lose their match tomorrow, NOR will be through irrespective of this match’s result. NOT has a solid top order, a couple of good finishers and a bowling line-up that has a lot to boast of when it comes to T20s with the likes of H Gurney and D Christian. They are on a roll, winning their last 3 completed games. WOR has an array of batsmen and all-rounders and it is something to boast about as well. They have all done their bit in the games so far, helping the Rapids perform well as a team and keeping them well and truly in the hunt for the knockouts.
Both teams should go in with the same playing XI as the last game.
The last game at this venue was a belter to bat on and the same pitch is going to be used tonight. Going to be yet another run-fest.
The hard-hitting opener started off the season well but had a tough couple of weeks after. The knock vs LEI a couple of days back indicated his return in form. If he gets going, he can demolish attacks. Even without being at his best, he is the only NOT player with 3 half-centuries this season so far.
The WOR opener is their highest run-getter this season with 304 runs at a healthy SR of 145. His form went flat a couple of weeks back but he has regained it with a couple of the fifties (FC and T20) in his last 3 innings.
The all-rounder took a break from all forms after a poor Ashes Test. He came back with a bang though, scoring 108 runs and picking up 2 wickets in the last couple of games.
The T20 Pro has gone for a trip around the world spreading his bowling prowess. He has been a success in the IPL, BBL and of course, the Vitality Blast. He has taken 17 wickets this season so far at a SR of less than 12.
