After a quarter-final appearance last season, Kent Spitfires are raring to go in this year’s Vitality Blast. Somerset will be looking to continue our impressive start to this year’s Vitality Blast when we travel to the Spitfire Ground to take on Kent Spitfires. Somerset began this season’s campaign with a comprehensive eight-wicket win at Glamorgan last night whilst this will be Kent’s opening fixture.

Pitch Report

No rain forecast ahead of the match. Usually a high scoring track where 200+ runs have been consistently scored.

Must have players

Babar Azam

Babar Azam has been the standout batsman for Pakistan in the recently concluded World Cup and has started the T20 Blast season with a 23-ball 35 that Somerset chase down the target against Glamorgan.

Jamie Overton

The third leading wicket taker from the last edition of T20 Blast with 24 wickets in 16 matches at a brilliant strike rate of 13.1. Among players to take more than 10 wickets in the death overs last season no bowler had a lower strike rate than Jamie Overton’s seven balls per wicket.

Mohammad Nabi

T20 Veteran from Afghanistan is a must have pick in almost all the T20 matches irrespective of the venue. He has been in good form for his national side in the World Cup and could once again be crucial for Kent in tonight’s game.
