A virtual knockout for the Yorkshire Vikings
NOT is well placed at number in the table. A win will almost guarantee them a spot in the top 4. A couple of wins will surely get them through but just one should be enough. YOR is lingering down at number 7. Their NRR isn’t great either, which means they need to win all of their remaining 3 games to qualify. NOT has a solid top order, a couple of good finishers and a bowling line-up that has a lot to boast of when it comes to T20s with the likes of H Gurney, D Christian and I Wasim. They still are not sure which is their best XI after a lot of washed out games. They have a good top order and a lot of bowling options. Middle order seems to be their weakness and opponents should exploit it.
Both teams should go in with the same team as last game.
The pitch at Trent Bridge has been a really high scoring one for a while now and that will not change too much tonight as well.
The YOR opener has been in terrific form, scoring 2 fifties in his last 3 innings. He has an aggregate of 285 this season, which is the highest for his side so far.
Another top order player who has done well for YOR. He not only has 239 runs to his name but also 5 wickets. His 3 wicket haul in the last game, helped the Vikings win. His all-round abilities make him a must have.
The T20 pro has gone for a trip around the world spreading his bowling prowess. He has been a success in the IPL, BBL and of course, the Vitality blast. He has taken 15 wickets this season so far at a SR of less than 12.
The hard hitting opener started off the season well but had a tough couple of weeks after. The knock vs LEI a couple of days back indicated his return in form. If he gets going, he can demolish attacks. Even without being at his best, he is the only NOT player with 3 half centuries this season so far.
