Sri Lanka sights white-wash as West Indies fight for a consolatory win
A comprehensive batting display by Sri Lanka fetched them a series win in the 2nd ODI. Now they are in sight of a white-wash, their previous one was against Bangladesh in July 2019. Both bowling and batting came through in both the matches, apart from the middle order blunder in the 1st ODI.
Without Hetmyer it was a daunting task for Pooran and Hope to chase down a target of 349. Its not about their batting that let them down, their fielding was horrible in the 2nd match. With the series done and dusted, West Indies seek out a consolatory win in the third ODI to prevent a series white-wash, which they suffered in 2017 against New Zealand.
With the series in hand Sri Lanka might look to experiment, but they might want to keep the winning combination to go 3-0.
