Bangladesh proved to be to good for a sub par West Indies
It was a dominating performance from Bangladesh at Taunton as they chased down their highest ever total in ODI Cricket till date with ease. The questions that surrounded how Bangladesh batsmen handle the short ball barrage from the West Indies has been put to rest as they punished the short ball. In fact, the overdoing of the very ploy has backfired for the West Indies big time. In the first half, West Indies who were put into bat first never got the momentum going as Bangladesh bowlers picked wickets whenever a partnership seemed to threaten to take the game away. At the end they somehow managed to post 321 on the board but it proved to be too less against a spirited Bangladesh and a terrible bowling performance.
Shakib Al Hasan
He continued from where left against England a week ago. He has come up with another century and this time around he has taken his team home. Before that, he also contributed with the ball where he dismissed two well set batsmen in Lewis and Pooran which in turn helped Bangladesh to cut off the scoring rate in the middle overs. He was the top performer of Dream11 fantasy cricket team with 100 points.
He has come from nowhere and just took the game from the West Indies who had some hope with dismissing Mushfiqur Rahim. He may have come as a replacement for Mithun but his performance was top notch. His brisk knock has certainly eased some extra pressure on Shakib who was the main pillar of their highest successful chase. Das was the surprise performer of Dream11 fantasy cricket team as he made 63 points.
He anchored the innings for West Indies in setting the target of 321 as other batsmen played around him. His knock received mixed reviews as he took too many deliveries to get going and which in turn had made other batsmen be ultra aggressive. His knock may not have come in handy for his team but he proved to be a worthy pick in Dream11 fantasy cricket players as he made 59 fantasy points in the match.
He is certainly proving to be the find of the World Cup for Bangladesh. Against the West Indies, it was usual business for him as he was once again amongst the wickets in the match. He dismissed the Universe Boss quite early in the innings which helped Bangladesh to keep Windes quite in the Powerplay. Later in the death overs, he kept the Windies batsman quiet by nailing yorkers. He made 39 fantasy points in the match.
The Universe Boss proved to be a big disappointment for Dream11 fantasy cricket players as he dismissed without scoring anything. His early departure made Windies to be defensive for most of the first innings. He made only 3 fantasy points.
The entire West Indies bowling plans were predictable and almost all the bowlers received the pounding for their poor bowling and Gabriel proved to be the worst among all. He neither picked any wicket nor proved to be economical. His presence in the Dream11 fantasy cricket team has come to hurt fantasy cricket players.
Our predictions were not up to the mark in the match. We missed on quite a few top performed players in our best grand league team. We expected for West Indies domination in the match but it proved to be otherwise as Bangladesh outplayed West Indies in all facets of the game. We drastically underestimated the strength of this Bangladesh team.
