Aussies proved to be formidable for high spirited Bangladesh
It was a run-fest at Trent Bridge on Thursday as Bangladesh fell short of 48 runs chasing a mammoth target of 382 posted by Australia. David Warner was the main man of the carnage who had lit up Australia’s innings with 166. Finch & Khawaja also played their part with a half-century each. In the second half, it never looked like Bangladesh can chase the enormous target, but they showed some fight by taking the game as deep as they could.
The way Warner approached his knock has resembled his old mojo for the first time in the tournament. He was aggressive from the outset and never held the scoring rate down for the Aussies at any point of time. His knock allowed Finch and Khawaja to settle into their innings. He was the Top performer of the match with 109 fantasy points.
The wicket-keeper batsman stepped up to the occasion when the team was in a desperate situation, after the dismissal of Shakib. He took the chase deep into the death overs and ensured there was no collapse through the middle and the death overs. His ton may not have helped his team to cross the line but it made a huge difference for Dream11 fantasy cricket players. He made 66.5 fantasy points in the match.
His partnership with Warner was the soul of the Australia’s batting innings. He complimented Warner well throughout his knock by playing both the aggressor and anchor role depending on the situation. He certainly lived up to the expectations of Dream11 fantasy cricket players as he made 53.5 fantasy points.
He failed to play out of his comfort zone when the situation demanded a handy cameo from him. He departed scoring just one run and he was also unable to contribute in the field. His little to almost no contribution has disappointed Dream11 fantasy cricket players as he made only 2.5 points.
He failed to come close to his average points contribution per match. He couldn’t pick any wicket in the match which didn’t go well for the fantasy cricket players. He made only 8 points in the match because of some contribution in the field.
We were not at our best with our predictions of the match. We have nailed the captain choice in our best grand league team, but failed to predict a few other top performers. We hope to provide better predictions in the upcoming matches for fantasy cricket players.
