Expert Review of England (ENG) Vs India (IND)

England ends India’s unbeaten streak

England has managed to keep their semifinal hopes alive as they outplayed India in a crucial contest at Edgbaston. Having won the toss and electing to bat first, England has got to a great start with both openers firing from either end. They continued it through middle overs by taking on the spinners and at one stage it looked like it was easy for England to post over 350 on the board. Indian bowlers pulled things back in the later half of the first innings. India on the other hand, didn’t get a great start when chasing an above par target but they accelerated through the middle overs for some time before England’s comeback which took the game completely away from India. They struggled to keep up with the required rate in the end overs.

FD Players Performance
Players who performed well

Jonny Bairstow

He may have been in the news for the wrong reasons in the past few days but he walked the talk at Edgbaston. His ton at the top of the order placed England at a good position at the halfway mark which the middle order batsmen banked on through the end overs. He was the top point scorer of the match with 72.5 fantasy points. He was also adjudged as the performer of the match.

Mohammed Shami

He continued from where he left the other day against West Indies. This time around he proved to be a touch expensive but he compensated by picking a 5 wicket haul. If not for his wicket taking ability, England would have easily posted above 350 on the board. He was the choicest pick of bowlers in the Dream11 cricket team as he made 72 fantasy points.

Rohit Sharma

He wasn’t at his best early in the innings and it made the situation tricky for India as they didn’t get a great start in the powerplay. But once he settled into the innings, he compensated for his slow start. His partnership with Kohli kept the game in check for India. In the end, his spirited knock may have gone in vain but it proved to be a game-changing innings for Dream11 fantasy cricket players.

Ben Stokes

His knock was the difference between 300 and 330 in England’s total. He kept the scorecard moving in the later middle overs of the innings even with the fall of wickets at the other end. He certainly proved to be a worthy pick for Dream11 fantasy cricket as he came up with a contribution of 49.5 fantasy points.

Players who didn’t Perform

Lokesh Rahul

He failed to live up to the expectations of fantasy cricket players as he couldn’t contribute any points in the match. His early departure in the crucial chase had hurt India the most as other batsmen found it hard to press the accelerator in the powerplay which in the end proved to be too costly for India.

Yuzvendra Chahal

He has gone through his worst day of his career as he recorded dismissing figures of 0/88 in his 10 over spell. His poor show proved to be a big disappointment for Dream11 cricket players as he couldn’t make any points in the match.
