Expert Review of Sri Lanka (SL) Vs West Indies (WI)

Sri Lanka resembled their old self after a long time

After a long time, Sri Lanka has come with a commendable batting performance as the 22-year-Old Avishka Fernando led from the front and it could be the way forward for Sri Lankan cricket post World Cup. On the other side, the West Indies were pretty much predictable in their way as they continued to be one dimensional in their approach which they need to sort out to make the most use of the resources in the future.

FD Players Performance
Players who performed well

Nicholas Pooran

He was the lone warrior for West Indies in the chase. Apart from Fabian Allen no other batsmen held on to the other end with him for long. He took the game deep by playing cautiously at the start and accelerated according to the required rate at the end. He may not have taken his team home at the end but he proved to be the match winner for Dream11 fantasy cricket players.

Avishka Fernando

It was a spirited knock coming from a Sri Lankan batsman after a long time. His ton helped Sri Lanka to post an above par total on the board in a crucial situation when other batsmen couldn’t convert their starts. He has stood apart from other Lankan batsmen so far in the tournament when it comes to timing and temperament.

Fabian Allen

The West Indies needed a partnership so badly in the chase with wickets falling at regular intervals. Then came Allen to support Pooran who had done the hard work to drag his team close to the target. This partnership had certainly lifted some pressure off of Pooran. Allen was also handy in the field and made 54 fantasy points.

Players who didn’t Perform

Shai Hope

He was considered as one of the biggest hopes for the West Indies in the chase. But he was a disappointment in this match, as he departed quite early in the chase. His departure soon after the dismissal of Ambris was one of the turning points in the match. He made only 9 fantasy points in the match.

FD Grand League Team Prediction

We were moderately accurate with our predictions in the match. We missed on quite a few top performers in our best grand league team, which proved to be too costly, even when we had the second highest point scorer in the match as the captain.
