England joins India & Australia in Semi’s
England came up with a dominant performance in a must-win contest against New Zealand to book a slot in the semifinals. It was the same story as Sunday for England yesterday as their openers once again came to the party when needed the most. Their opening partnership turned out to be the game-changer as the English middle order failed to capitalize on an explosive start. New Zealand on the flip side has shown some fight back in the second half of the England innings but failed to continue the momentum with the bat, as they lost wickets at regular intervals.
He continued from where he left against India a few days ago. He came up with a second consecutive century and it proved to be vital for England’s success against Kiwis. His opening stand with Roy was the vital cog of England’s Innings as the middle order failed to capitalize on the good platform. He was the top performer of the Dream11 dream team with 67.5 points.
The runout of Willamson at the non-striker’s end in the follow through of Wood was the turning point of Kiwis chase. He then dismissed Nesham and Santner who tried to build some momentum through the middle overs. Those wickets made him the top bowler in the Dream11 cricket team, where he made 45 fantasy points.
He came up with a handy all-round performance in the match and also proved to be a worthy pick for Dream11 fantasy cricket players. First up, he broke the dangerous opening partisanship by dismissing Roy and later pulled the momentum towards Kiwis. In the second half, he held on with Latham for some time to settle the nerves in Kiwis camp with wickets falling in a cluster. He made 39 fantasy points.
His comeback after the injury break seems to be producing wonders for England at the top of the order. He has once again complimented Bairstow through the opening partnership which proved to be the difference in the end result for England. He made 38 fantasy points and proved to be a worthy pick for Dream11 fantasy cricket players.
He once again failed to repay his faith for the team as Kiwis kept persisting with him even in his bad times. On Wednesday, it was the same old story as he departed pretty early in the chase without giving the team a good start. He made only 6.5 fantasy points in the match.
Colin de Grandhomme
He failed to live up to the expectations of Dream11 fantasy cricket players nor his team. When the situation demanded to solidify the innings with wickets falling at regular intervals, he went for a reckless shot. He was expensive in the overs he bowled too. He made only 3.5 fantasy points.
We were moderate with our predictions in the match. We missed out on a few top performers in our best grand league team. We perceived the contest would be an evenly poised one but it turned out to be an English domination. We still had 8 players from the dream team in our best grand league team.
