Expert Review of Afghanistan (AFGH) Vs West Indies (WI)

The West Indies finish on a high to hand Afghanistan a duck

After their first win against Pakistan, at last the West Indies found their second win of the tournament in the side’s last league match against Afghanistan. On the other hand, Afghanistan ended their World Cup campaign without registering a victory. Having won the toss and electing to bat first the Windies posted a decent total on the board as Hope, Lewis, and Pooran came up with half centuries. Chasing the target, Afghanistan was in the game until Ali Khil was at the crease.

FD Players Performance
Players who performed well

Carlos Brathwaite

He was the game changer for the Windies with the ball. His spell proved to be too costly for Afghanistan in the chase, as he picked crucial wickets of Rahmat Shan, Asghar Afghan who played vital knocks and seemed to take the game deep. In the first half of the match, he also came up with a handy cameo which proved to be the difference in the end result. He made 62 fantasy points.

Ikram Ali Khil

He was the surprise package of the match. He took the responsibility in the chase to keep up with the required rate when it was needed the most. His knock almost pulled the game for Afghanistan as he took on the Windies’ bowlers throughout his impressive knock. He made 59 fantasy points and proved to be a game changer for Dream11 fantasy cricket players.

Shai Hope

His knock at the top of the order was so crucial for the West Indies in setting the target. He played the anchor role and made sure there was no collapse for them, similar to that of previous games. He made 47.5 fantasy points and proved to be a worthy pick for Dream11 fantasy cricket players.

Kemar Roach

After missing the last game with an injury, Roach was back to business as usual. He picked the vital wicket of Naib early in the chase and at the end made sure there was no fightback from Afghanistan after Ali Khil’s departure. He made 43 fantasy points.

Players who didn’t Perform

Gulbadin Naib

The Afghan captain has gone through one of his poorer outings in the tournament. He was dismissed quite early in the chase and also failed to pick a wicket in the match. He made only 5 fantasy points and proved to be a big disappointment in the Dream11 cricket team.

Sheldon Cottrell

The West Indies top wicket-taker has failed to pick a wicket for the first time in the tournament. His poor show has allowed the shift in the momentum for the most part of the chase. He made only 6 fantasy points and it proved to be costly for most Dream11 fantasy cricket players.

FD Grand League Team Prediction

We were moderately accurate with our predictions in the match. We missed out on a couple of top performers in our best grand league team but we got 8 players from the dream team. If we had predicted those couple of top performers we would have come close to the overall dream team points.
