Bangla Tigers hand Proteas a second straight loss
Bangladesh has come up with a spirited performance to hand South Africa a second loss in the World Cup 2019. Having won the toss and elected to bowl first, South Africa’s plans didn’t pan out well, as Bangladesh batsmen got to an impressive start. They continued the same throughout the innings as almost every batsman played his part to post their highest total in ODIs. Later, chasing the target South Africa tried to build a good partnership in the middle overs, but Bangladesh chipped in with regular wickets to register their first win of the tournament.
He had certainly lived up to the pre-match expectations on him as he came up with a vital knock for the side in the crucial middle overs of the innings. His partnership with Shakib was the core of Bangladesh’s dominance in the match. He may not have stayed till the end to give the finishing blow, but his knock helped others to get going in the death overs. He made 53 points in the match.
Shakib Al Hasan
He was adjudged as the performer of the match for his all-round show. He settled the nervousness in Bangladesh camp with his cautious approach after the early departure of Tamim. He then built handy partnerships with Sarkar & Rahim to set a perfect platform for the side in the death overs. Later in the second innings, he scalped the crucial wicket of well set Markram which in turn broke the big partnership of the Proteas. He made 62.5 overall fantasy points.
Faf du Plessis
He was the top scorer for the side in the chase. It seemed like he was going to take the game deep to give South Africa a fighting chance before departing in the middle of it. His knock may not have come in handy for the side in the end result, but he proved to be a worthy pick for Dream11 fantasy cricket players. He made 38.5 fantasy points.
He was the top pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh in the match, as he came up with 3 wickets in his 10 over spell. He picked wickets at crucial moments in the match which included the wickets of the well set Duminy and Miller. He may have conceded slightly more than usual, but he lived up to the expectations of Dream11 fantasy cricket players with his wicket-taking ability.
He uncharacteristically came up with a pretty poor performance in the match. He failed to pick a wicket in the match, as Bangladesh batsmen handled him cleverly throughout the innings. He made only 9.5 points and proved to be a huge disappointment for Dream11 fantasy cricket players.
Quinton de Kock
He had come into the match with high expectations to perform well, but he failed to convert his start into something substantial. But he proved to be handy with his glove work and made 23.5 fantasy points overall.
We were moderately accurate with our prediction in the match. We perceived the contest will be dominated by South Africa but it turned the other way around. Even then we predicted 7 players accurately from the dream team and if we had predicted a couple of more top performing players right, we would have come close to the overall dream team points.
