Expert Review of England (ENG) Vs Pakistan (PAK)

Root, Buttler Centuries couldn’t stop Pakistan from registering their first win of ICC World Cup 2019.

After a trashing defeat against West Indies, Pakistan have turned up with all guns blazing to put an end to their 11-match losing streak. Having lost the toss once again at Trent Bridge, Pakistan openers came up with a good start, unlike the previous game. Then the good work was continued by Babar, Hafeez, and Sarfaraz, who turned up with half-centuries to take Pakistan close to 350. Later Chasing the above par total, England has lost Roy early but Root compensated it with a handy partnership with Bairstow. Then Pakistan found ways to dig into the England middle order with timely wickets. But England came back with a crucial partnership of Root & Buttler which almost took the game.

FD Players Performance
Players who performed well

Joe Root

He anchored the chase pretty well after the early dismissal of Roy and his partnerships with Bairstow and Buttler was the reason why England could dig deep into the chase. He may not have seen his team home after all the hard work, but he certainly took Dream11 fantasy players home as he made 69.5 points in the match.

Jos Buttler

England was in the game until he was at the crease. He came up with a brisk century as he usually does, which kept the required rate in check throughout his stay at the crease. Like Root, he also failed to take his team home after all the good work. He was the top point scorer of the Dream11 fantasy cricket team in the match.

Mohammad Hafeez

He was just brilliant through the middle overs as he kept the scoreboard moving at a brisk pace. His knock compensated the below par scoring by Pakistan in the death overs. Adding to his knock, he was also handy with his bowling as he scalloped England captain early in his innings which slowed things a bit for England in the chase. He made 68 fantasy points overall.

Chris Woakes

He may have not have picked a wicket at the top as he usually does, but he compensated it by picking wickets in the death overs. He also proved to be handy in the field as he accumulated 3 vital catches and played a handy cameo in the chase. He certainly lived up to the expectations of fantasy cricket players as he made 66 points overall in the match.

Players who didn’t Perform

Jofra Archer

He was the big disappointment of the match, as he failed to pick a wicket nor contributed to the team with the bat when needed. He made only 1.5 points in the match and proved to the worst pick for Dream11 fantasy cricket players.

Jason Roy

It was Bairstow in the previous game who got out to leg spin early in the innings, and it is Roy in this match who failed to read Shadab. He was also sloppy in the field which cost England 10-15 runs to the eventual total. He made 7 fantasy points.
