Sri Lanka beats tricky Afghanistan
Sri Lanka has managed to turn their fortunes around in quick time to register their first win of the tournament in a match, where no side seemed to be in control for a long duration. Having put to bat first in the overcast conditions, Sri Lanka made most use of Afghanistan’s poor bowling in the powerplay. At one stage, it seemed as though they will post 300 runs on the board, but Afghan spinners came back strong to restrict the Islanders for just 201. Later while chasing a revised target of 187 in 41 overs, Afghanistan failed to build big partnerships, as Lankan bowlers chipped in with wickets at regular intervals to hand their side a win by 34 runs.
After Sri Lanka’s good start at the top of the order, Nabi came in with an impressive spell to demolish the middle order. He played a vital role in reducing Sri Lanka from 92/1 to 201- all out. Later in the second innings, he also played a handy knock to take the chase deep. He may not have taken his team home with the bat, but he certainly proved to be the game changer for fantasy cricket players. He was the top point scorer in the match.
He has lived up to the pre-match expectations on him, as he came up with a game-changing knock. His brisk knock at the top has given Sri Lanka a much needed opening stand, for which the team has been starving for a long time. His work proved to be the difference in the result as other batsmen struggled to score runs. He made 51 fantasy points.
He has come from nowhere into the team, as he replaced injured Jeevan Mendis and played a vital role in his team’s victory. He used the overcast conditions to good effect as Afghanistan batsmen struggled to score against him. His partnership in bowling with Malinga was the match-defining moment of this match. He made 56 fantasy points.
The veteran pacer has lived up to his pre-match words as he came up with an impressive spell of 3/39. He started things going for Lanka with an early wicket and later removed the tail in his usual fashion. He certainly proved to be a worthy pick in the Dream11 fantasy cricket team as he made 40.5 points in the match.

The middle order failed to hang around for a while in a situation where the team needed to consolidate. He neither scored any runs nor picked a wicket in the match. He was a big disappointment for Dream11 fantasy cricket players as he couldn’t contribute any points.
There were a lot of hopes on the experienced campaigner to emerge victorious in a tricky match. But he failed to live up to the hopes on him as he was dismissed without scoring any runs in the match. He made only 3 fantasy points.
We were slightly inaccurate with our predictions of the match. The batsmen whom we expected will do well, unfortunately didn’t perform up to the mark, and that’s where most of our predictions were wrong. We sincerely hope we do not repeat such miscalculations in the upcoming matches, and provide Dream11 fantasy players with accurate predictions.
