Expert Review of India (IND) Vs South Africa (SA)

Rohit, Chahal help India to get things underway in the World Cup

India started their World Cup campaign on a high, as they handed South Africa its third loss of the tournament. Having won the toss and electing to bat first, South Africa lost the openers in quick succession and then tried to build a few partnerships in the middle overs but India bagged wickets at regular intervals to restrict South Africa for 227 in 50 overs. Later chasing the target, Indian batsmen took their own time on a surface which had something for bowlers.

FD Players Performance
Players who performed well

Rohit Sharma

He was the main man for India in the chase as he came up with an unbeaten 122 in the match. He stood his ground firm when wickets continued to fall at the other end. He anchored the chase for the team on a tough pitch and took his team home. He was the top point scorer in the match as he made 79.5 fantasy points.

Yuzvendra Chahal

He continued the good work done by the opening bowlers. He picked South African middle order batsmen and never allowed them to settle for a big score. The middle order includes vital wickets of Duplessis and Rassie van der Dussen. He certainly proved to be a worthy pick for fantasy cricket players as he made 56 fantasy points.

Chris Morris

His team may have ended on the losing side of the result, but he took the Dream11 fantasy players in the right direction with his all-round show. He played a vital knock at the end which allowed South Africa to go past 220. Later in the chase, he also came up with a wicket and made 48.5 fantasy points overall.

Kagiso Rabada

He played his part in the crucial partnership with Morris in the death overs. Later in India’s chase, he dismissed the dangerous Dhawan early in the piece and later also got the better of Rahul, who seemed to settle for a big knock. His all-round contribution may not have come handy for the Proteas but he proved to be the game changer for Dream11 fantasy cricket players. He made 45.5 fantasy points.

Players who didn’t Perform

Imran Tahir

He failed to pick a wicket in the match which turned out to be a huge blow for South Africa. It also affected the Dream11 fantasy cricket players as he didn’t even contribute his average points per match. He made only 2 fantasy points.

Hashim Amla

The veteran opening batsman had departed early in the innings, which made things harder for middle order batsmen against spinners. His poor performance meant a huge disappointment for Dream11 fantasy cricket players. He made 5.5 fantasy points.

FD Grand League Team Prediction

We were decent with our predictions in the match. We predicted 8 players correctly in our best grand league team from the dream team of the match. If we had a couple of more top players or even if we had chosen the Vice-captain choice right, we would have nailed the dream team.
