It has finally come down to the net run rate for both the teams, to finish in the Top 3 for Delhi with 9 wins, and for Hyderabad to finish at No. 4 with 6 wins. Now, it’s not about net run rate, since a victory takes a team closer to the finals and a loss will close the curtains on the other. The Delhi Capitals may have been a superior team than the Sunrisers Hyderabad in this season, but on Wednesday, it counts for nothing since Vizag’s surface will be more or less similar to Delhi, where they struggled in this season . But, Vizag has been the second home for the Sunrisers in the past few seasons and the surface is likely to aid their style of play too. Hence, it will be a scintillating contest to watch, as Vizag offers a ‘home away from home’ feeling for both the teams.
Sunrisers might consider replacing Yusuf Pathan with either Abhishek Sharma or Hooda. Delhi too might consider to replace Kemo Paul with Chris Morris & one of the pacers with Suchith.
The surface here has produced low scoring games in recent times. Spinners dominated proceedings and pacers also came up with decent returns. On Wednesday, we expect a similar surface with temperatures soaring high in Vizag for the past few days. The forecast for today is no different.
K Khaleel Ahmed
He had missed the first half of the season due to an injury, but he is making most of his presence felt since his return. He has been his side’s wicket-taker in the last few matches, where he picked three 3-wicket hauls on the trot. In addition, he has a good record against Delhi batsmen in his short career, in which he has dismissed Pant twice, and Dhawan & Shaw once each in the last two T20s. So, he is a must-have bowler in all the Dream11 fantasy cricket teams in today’s IPL match.
DhawanHe took us through an unforgettable outing in the last match against Bangalore. Come Wednesday, his team would need him the most. He was the Dream11 game changer for Sunrisers, when these two sides met earlier in the season in Delhi. He holds the key against the Delhi left-hand batsmen. The surface in Vizag is expected to be sane in nature, which would assist in giving him the conditions required for having yet another great innings.
He may have gone through a couple of low scores in the last two games, but the top run-getter of the team is too good a player to miss out on his chance in today’s IPL match. If he can live up to his past records at the venue, there is every chance he will come good today. He has scored 46, 82 & 33 in the last 3 games here. In order to live up to his past records, he has to be circumspect around Nabi and Khaleel, who have dismissed him once each in recent times.
He has had a peculiar season so far, as he went through ups and downs with his performance. Against Sunrisers bowlers it is no different. He has a good strike rate against Rashid, Bhuvneswar, & Nabi, but against Khaleel, he got out twice without scoring any runs, and Thampi has dismissed him once in recent times. So in today’s IPL match, it will be fascinating to see whether Pant turns the table around or not.
