The Royal Challengers Bangalore are slowly finding their way into this season of the IPL after winning 3 out of last 4 games that they have played. The do or die situation seems to be bringing the best out of the team. It all started against Kings XI Punjab, who they are going to face for the second time in this season. On the other hand, the visitor’s have been blowing hot and cold with their performance so far, but now it’s time to build on the momentum at the business end of the season. The contest between these two sides in Bangalore resembles more like a game between RCB A and RCB B, as most players from KXIP were associated with RCB in the past few seasons.
Bangalore is likely to stick with the winning combination. KXIP though might consider some changes in the likes of bringing in an extra batsman in place of an all-rounder or a bowler.
Surprisingly, the last match wasn’t a run-fest at this venue. On Wednesday, since there’s no forecast of rain, we can expect the pitch to be in its natural state.
He is in good nick with the ball so far in the season. He is not only amongst the wicket-takers but he is also proving to be economical at the same time. The very economy rate might change the complexation of the game in Bangalore where runs usually flow high. Adding to that he has a proven record against Virat and Devilliers, who have struggled to score runs against him in recent times.
The Universe boss is in decent form of late and he is showcasing it in style in the IPL. Now he comes to Bangalore where he made his mark in the IPL by scoring tons of runs for RCB. But since the time he moved to KXIP, he struggled to score runs in Bangalore. So it will be fascinating to see whether he can pull off his old mojo at Chinnaswamy.
One just can’t miss out on Bangalore’s skipper for a match. He may have departed early in the previous match but he is performing his best so far in the season. He has scored runs at a good strike-rate against KXIP pacers in the last 4 encounters. But he has somehow struggled to score runs at a satisfactory rate against the KXIP spinners.
Since his arrival, Bangalore has won both the matches. His performance has played its part in those victories. He made early breakthroughs for the side, where Bangalore struggled to do so in the past matches. RCB would definitely hope he continues the same today, since they are relying heavily on openers for runs.
It all started here for Rahul, whether it is scoring the bulk of runs for Karnataka or coming into the spotlight with his stand-out hits for RCB. In addition, he continues the same form in Bangalore even while he’s playing for KXIP, and he has a great record against RCB bowlers in the last few T20s.
