Date & Time: Monday, 1st April; 08:00pm IST
Venue: Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium,Mohali
After some riveting weekend action, IS Bindra Stadium is set to host the 13th match of IPL 2019 between Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Capitals. Both teams have won 2 games and lost 1 game so far this season. Delhi Capitals are coming into this game confidently, after holding their nerve in super over against KKR, meanwhile Kings XI Punjab will be buoyed by their victory over the mighty Mumbai Indians.
Since both teams are coming into this game with a victory, many changes are not expected. If Kings XI Punjab is looking for a third spinning option, it can go for Varun CV (availability is under a cloud) or Mujeeb ur Rahman. Meanwhile, DC has Axar Patel or Rahul Tewatia, if it is looking for an additional spinner too.
IS Bindra Stadium has become such a lucky charm for Kings XI Punjab recently. Their batsmen especially love this wicket, where their average score is 180 in the last 5 matches, and it has gone on to win all those matches. The stroke-makers at the top of the innings are expected to score the bulk of the runs.
KL Rahul played a completely unnatural inning, but it was very effective as he later made up for all the dot balls he played initially. Eventually, he took his side home and that is what matters at the end of the day. KL Rahul has been in terrific form of late in T20s and especially at this venue, he has amassed 219 runs in 5 innings. Interestingly, Rahul has not faced the ‘Man of the Moment’ Kagiso Rabada yet in IPL, hence today could be a battle, that can change the fate of the game.
Recently, Shreyas Iyer has been in fine nick with the bat, but a long innings has been eluding him for a while. Hopefully, today may be that day. This venue might suit him perfectly and the slow start he usually gets could be made up easily, if he stays till the end.
The Gabbar is definitely rejuvenated after making the switch to Delhi Capitals. He has been playing with more intent and responsibility. Once again he could make it a hard day for the bowlers. His 48-ball 77 innings in IPL 2017 against KXIP at this venue helped SRH to a comfortable victory over KXIP.

The 6 feet 4 inches tall all-rounder from South Africa bowled with pace and accuracy in his return game. He has picked up 5 wickets in 4 matches here at a strike rate of 16.50. Sending him ahead of Hanuma Vihari for batting, during the final stages of the previous match could have earned an easy victory for DC. Hopefully it should happen today, if such a situation demands.
The 18-year old Nepali leg spinner has been turning heads over in all major T20 leagues across the world. He was the most prolific foreign bowler in the recently concluded PSL 2019 with 11 wickets from 7 matches. He could be a force to reckon with in IPL 2019 as well.
