Date & Time: on Saturday, April 13th; 04:00pm IST
Venue: Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai
The Rajasthan Royals is yet to find its groove at the almost halfway stage into the season. Apart from their loss against Kolkata, Rajasthan has fought hard in all the remaining matches so far. But the absence of the x-factor performances is holding them back. On the other hand, Mumbai has found its way back in the season after the first two losses. They would want to produce consistent performances to make the most use of the current momentum.
Rajasthan might bring in Aston Turner in place of Steven Smith to add some firepower which has been lacking in the team.
On the other hand, Rohit is expected to be back in the squad after missing the previous game. While Mumbai might also think of bringing Malinga back in place of Alzarri Joseph to strengthen death bowling.
The last game at the venue was a high scoring match, in which Mumbai chased down 197. The average score of teams that have bat first in the last 3 games has been 193. We can watch out for another high scoring affair on Saturday as well.
Ajinkya Rahane
Apart from 70 in the second match, the Rajasthan skipper has struggled to produce a significant knock. He might change that stand while playing at his home ground, where he has a great track record. He has scored 237 runs in the last five matches played here.
Jos Buttler
The England batsman is the top run-scorer for the side so far in the season. He also has good numbers against Mumbai bowlers overall, but he struggled against Bumrah, as he dismissed him thrice so far and he also has mediocre numbers against Krunal Pandya and Jason Behredorff.
Suryakumar Yadav
One cannot forget his performance from the previous season and it is tough to accept that a player of his caliber has only made one significant contribution to his team until this point. We are sure he would be hungry to change his fortune in the game against Rajasthan, especially because he has good numbers backing him. He has scored 143 runs at a strike rate of 158 against the Royals’ bowlers.
Dhawal Kulkarni
He has a good record against Mumbai batsmen, where he has a strike rate of 11.11 in the last 100 balls bowled to them. He also has a crucial edge over Rohit Sharma, as he got the better of the Mumbai Skipper twice in recent times. Adding to his form against the home side, he has also fared well at this venue in the last five T20s.
Jasprit Bumrah
Mumbai’s bowling spearhead is in good form in the season, as he has produced few crucial spells for the team when needed. On Saturday we expect him to continue his form against Rajasthan, as he has fine records against the visitor’s batsmen, especially against Buttler, who has been dismissed by Bumrah thrice in the last 5 encounters.
