The contest between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Mumbai Indians produced a huge run-fest. The Knight Riders, who are in a do or die situation fired all guns to post a mammoth total on the board. Mumbai while chasing that mammoth total fell short by 34 runs, as there was no one to accompany Hardik Pandya, who seemed to be their lone warrior to pull off the chase for the visitors in yesterday’s IPL match.
He demolished the Mumbai bowlers. He just smashed every third ball out of the boundary as he came in with a purpose, as always. He didn’t stop there though, he was also amongst the wickets and at the same time economical. He made 85 points overall and he was the Dream11 performer of the match.
He was not far away from Russell when it comes to power hitting. He almost pulled of the chase single-handley for Mumbai. He didn’t shown any signs of vulnerability even when there was regular fall of wickets on the other end or with increase in the run rate for every over. If you’d had him in your Dream11 fantasy cricket team, you wouldn’t be disappointed at all, as he came up with 71.5 points.
Gill once again showed what he is capable of. He came up with a smashing knock to give Kolkata a great start alongside Lynn. After the departure of Lynn, he continued the good performance alongside Russell. His partnership with both Lynn and Russell was outstanding.
After a poor show in the previous game, he came up with a decent contribution at the top of the order for Kolkata. His partnership alongside Gill had set a great platform for Russell later in the innings. He made 39 points.
He failed to live up to the pre-match expectations on him, as he couldn’t score many runs in the chase. His early departure put more pressure on the middle order batsmen. He made only 9.5 fantasy points.
He once again failed to shift gears when the team needed it the most. His 18 ball 24 didn’t help his team. By the time he shifted gears it was all too late. He made only 15 points.
We were almost accurate with our predictions for this match. We got the Captain and the Vice-captain choices spot on. If we had gotten a couple of top performers right, we could have nailed the Dream team.
