Dream11 IPL Match 15 Post Match Review: Mumbai Indians (MI) Vs Chennai Super Kings (CSK)

Finally, a team defeated the champions Chennai Super Kings in this season, and it was done handsomely by the Mumbai Indians after a great comeback with the bat.

While chasing a Target of 170, Chennai fell short by 37 runs, as they lost wickets at regular intervals. The lower order tried their best to pull the momentum back but the required run-rate got the better of them.

In the first innings, Chennai started the proceedings well with the ball, but a couple of characteristic partnership in the middle and lower middle order from Mumbai left Chennai wandering out of the contest.

FD Players Performance

Players who performed well

Hardik Pandya

He gave his team a much needed push at the end with his clean hits. He didn’t stop just there, he also came back with a match-defining spell in the second innings, where he picked 3 wickets for only 20 runs. He made 49 points in the match.

Surya Kumar Yadav

The top-order batsman’s gritty knock was the main reason for Mumbai’s resurgence in the match. He held the innings together after the early departure of openers. His knock provided a much-needed platform for the lower order batsmen, who later capitalised the innings. He made 44.5 points.

Kedar Jadhav

He was the lone warrior for Chennai with the bat, as he fought hard while the others were falling apart. His fighting half-century may not have taken his team to a victory but it helped in being a part of the dream team as he made 44 points in the match.

Krunal Pandya

He came up with an all-round performance in the match. He played the aggressor role in the crucial partnership with Suryakumar Yadav. Later with the ball, he proved to be economical. He contributed 27.5 points.

Jason Behrendroff

The left-arm pacer continued his good performance from where he left off in the Pakistan Series. He was instrumental in Mumbai’s dominance with the ball, as his spell early in the innings threw Chennai on the back foot. He contributed 23 points in the match.

Players who didn’t perform well

Rohit Sharma

The Mumbai opener didn’t have the best day with the bat, as he was dismissed without scoring much, and at the same time, he consumed a lot deliveries for his liking. He could only make 10 points in the match.

Suresh Raina

The left-handed batsman didn’t live up to the expectations on him. He looked rusty in his short stay at the crease and couldn’t make any significant contribution. He made 12 points.

Shane Watson

He couldn’t break his shackles in the match, contrary to what we had thought. His departure early in the chase stopped Chennai from gaining any momentum. He made a mere 5 points in the match.
