Dream11 IPL Match 22 Post Match Review: Kings Xi Punjab (KXIP) Vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)

Kings XI Punjab pulls off a close contest against Sunrisers Hyderabad, as the home side held their nerve in the final over to score 11 runs. Once again Sunrisers middle order failed to perform and Warner has been the usual suspect with the bulk of the runs. On the other hand, King XI Punjab top order played their roles to finish off the game early, but fall of wickets at the end ensured the game went into the final over.

FD Players Performance

Players who performed well

Lokesh Rahul

The opening batsman lived up to the pre-match hype on him. He was the main man for Kings XI with the bat as he saw the team through to victory. He played different roles in the match, first up he gave the team a good start alongside Gayle. Later, he played the anchor role, as Agarwal played a brisk knock alongside him. In the end, he played an important role of a finisher to take his side home. He made 50 points in the match.

David Warner

Who can stop the Hyderabad opening batsman? The answer seems to be no one at this point in time, as he once again came up with a half-century on Monday. He played uncharacteristically early in the innings on a pitch aided for bowlers. He got the conditions under his control and he unleashed his natural game. His knock helped Sunrisers to post an above par total on the board on a tough surface. He made 45 points.

Mayank Agarwal

He proved to be worthy for his team. He may not have seen his team through the chase, but his partnership with KL Rahul was crucial in the match. His brisk knock allowed Rahul to take the game deep into the final over. He made 38 points in the match.

Deepak Hooda

The lower-order batsman had proved his worth in the match, as he played an important cameo at the end. His 14 runs off the 3 balls in the final over helped Sunrisers post 150 on the board. Adding to his contribution with the bat, he had been effective with his fielding in the match. He made 23 points overall.

Vijay Shankar

He got a good start on a tough pitch after the early departure of Bairstow. But he failed to convert it big, as Ashwin got the better of him when he tried to shift the gears. He made 20 points in the match.

Players who didn’t perform

David Miller

He failed to perform when the team needed him the most. He couldn’t hold his ground alongside Rahul in the tense situation, as he was dismissed cheaply without much contribution to the team. He made only 2.5 points in the match.

Jonny Bairstow

For the first time, the wicketkeeper-batsman departed for a single digit score in the season. He underwent a spin early in the piece on a challenging surface. He made mere 2.5 points in the match.
