Dream11 IPL Match 23 Post Match Review: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Vs Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)

Chennai Super Kings continue their winning streak at home, as they once again stumped a team on a sluggish surface. The surface in Chennai has once again come into the limelight, as the contest on Tuesday never looked a T20 game at any point in time. Apart from Russell, no batsman forced their way into the match and that led the visitors to settle for a sluggish score. Later Chennai chased the target by taking their own time.

FD Players Performance

Players who performed well

Deepak Chahar

The new-ball bowler made early inroads in the match, as he dismissed Kolkata’s 3 batsmen from the Top four. His spell proved to be costly for Kolkata as they never got to a phase in the match for a come back. His spell fetched him the Man of the Match reward as he made 37 points in the match.

Andre Russell

His teammates may have given up their hope on the sluggish surface, but he didn’t and fought even with some discomfort in his forearms. His knock aides in posting a decent score on the board. He contributed 36.5 points.

Harbhajan Singh

He came up with another impressive performance on the back of his good outing against KXIP. He complimented Chahar with some tight bowling from one end. He was also brilliant in the field as he made 35 points overall in the match.

Sunil Narine

The mystery Spinner had compensated his batting with good performance with the ball. He dismissed two set Chennai batsmen in the chase and gave a remote chance of winning for his team. He made 25 points in the match.

Faf du Plessis

The Chennai opening batsman held his nerve in the chase even with wickets falling at regular intervals. He made sure that there was no collapse in the chase, as he scored 43 runs and saw the team home through the chase. He made 25 points.

Piyush Chawla

The veteran leg-spinner had shown his all-round skills in the match. He first upheld his nerve with the bat alongside Russell in a critical situation, and later in the second half he came up with a decent spell with the ball. He made 25 points in the match.

Players who didn’t perform well

Kuldeep Yadav

The Chinaman couldn’t live up the pre-match expectations on him, as he failed to pick up a wicket in the match. His performance held his team back in the second half of the match. He made 4 points in the match.

Nitish Rana

Other than a catch he couldn’t contribute anything to the team. He departed early in the innings as he played an unwanted shot on a sluggish surface. He made only 4 points in the match.

FD Grand league team Prediction

We couldn’t predict Grand league team accurately in this match, as the contest between Chennai and Kolkata turned out to be poorer than a low scoring affair. We missed out on few bowlers as we picked an extra batsman in our team. Otherwise our predictions  were decent enough in the match.
