The Delhi Capitals continued their away form on Monday, as they defeated the Rajasthan Royals in their own fortress. The result may not have surprised many but the way the surface turned out in Jaipur certainly did so. The Rajasthan Royals got to a fantastic start up front and they continued it through the middle but at the end, they lost their way, which cost them 10-15 runs. Delhi, on the other hand, chased the target with ease as they are always tuned to, that also with the required rate.
The Delhi wicket-keeper batsman had ended his unlucky run drought streak with a match-winning knock on Monday. He held the chase together after the quick departure of Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer and saw the team through the chase, unlike his previous matches. He made 52 points in the match.
He had come up with an impressive century as he unleashed his natural strokes for the first time in the season. He played both the anchor and the aggressor role in the match depending on the situation. He could have finished with more runs but the lack of support from the middle order batsmen left him to settle for 105. He made 71 points.
He had given his team a good start to the chase which later helped other batsmen to settle into their innings. His stay in the middle was entertaining as he played good shots all-round the park. He made 39 points.
He had come up with another vital half-century for the team after his heroic shots against Mumbai in the previous game. His partnership with Rahane was the core of Rajasthan’s total on the board. He made 35 points in the match.
The Purple cap holder lived up to the expectations on him, as he came up with another good performance for Delhi. He didn’t allow the Rajstahan batsmen to score quick runs in the end, and he was also brilliant on the field. He made 27 points overall.
He failed to pick any wickets in the match, which indeed hurt Rajasthan big time as he was touted to be the main wicket-taker for them. He made only 2 points in the match.
He failed to replicate his usual form, as he departed early in the chase without contributing his average points per match. But he was handy with fielding which earned him 8 points in the match.
We have come up with decent predictions in the match, as we got the top performers of the match right. We have missed a couple of decent performers in the team, apart from which the predictions were largely accurate.
